Education and Engagement

We work closely with a wide range of local voluntary and statutory agencies to improve understanding and support for LGBTQ+ people across Gloucestershire.
Our team provides external training on LGBTQ+ topics, including:
-
equality,
-
diversity and
-
inclusive practice.
We also deliver sessions in schools and colleges as part of PSHE and Citizenship curricula, helping young people learn about identity, respect and wellbeing. These sessions challenge negative attitudes and tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in age‑appropriate, accessible ways.
We are often asked for advice on setting up LGBTQ+ groups in schools. If you would like more information or support, please email us at admin@gayglos.org.uk.
Strategic Engagement
We take an active role in local partnership and decision‑making groups across Gloucestershire. Our aim is to make sure the needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ people of all ages are understood, considered and built into services, policies and community planning.
Through this work, we bring informed, community‑rooted insight to organisations and partnerships. We help shape conversations, challenge assumptions and highlight where inclusion, safety and belonging can be strengthened.
Our strategic engagement ensures that LGBTQ+ voices are represented at the table, not as an afterthought but as a core part of creating fair, accessible and effective services for everyone.
